A kick in the mouth…

Its easy to say you’ll be                                                                                                                                             where you’ll be, but                                                                                                                                                     I cant remember seeing you standing                                                                                                                                                                          next to me. Having a voice to speak your words                                                                                                        the opportunity is here, now,                                                                                                                                           be part of the crowd,                                                                                                                                                                                but be you too. Shaking your fist, making a sign                                                                                                                                                                                       to save the memory that’s yours as well as                                                                                                                 mine.

                                                                                                                                                               

I dont stand that offended really….

You see I took that line from one of my poems…how could i actaully call all of my blogs the same thing?! That line randomly popped into my head, oh well worse things have happened. I attend Dartington College of Arts in Devon, and have recently found out that the trust can no longer support the college so its going to “merge” with another in Cornwall. There is going to be a protest tommorrow, friday 17th november from 8.30am to 5.30pm at the bottom of the college drive at the gate house. If you live in Totnes or want to support the students please come, its not just going to be a protest but a celebration of the students interpretation of art, there will be music, displays etc. We dont want Dartington to be packing its bag in the next few years because of its unique diversity in contemporary arts. I for one am so glad that I moved from London to be here, the ethos, the beauty, the people cant be merged if the people moving with the college dont want to be in a new place. This protest will be peaceful, no burning trucks or riots just an attempt to have our voices heard… come and see what its about, what we are about and then you’ll understand what the world will be missing if Dartington is to be moved. There are only four specialist arts colleges (including us) in Britain, help to keep it that way. Thanks
